Be Careful What You Ask For...

You just might get it!

"The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors". Prov. 26:10

I'm full of cliches. My husband picks on me for it. Here's one for you - 'if you play with fire you're going to get burned'. Or how about what our mothers used to tell us - 'your face is going to get stuck like that'. Or, 'if everyone else jumped off a bridge, would you do it, too?' So what's the point here? The point is, there are consequences to your actions, be they good, (an apple a day keeps the doctor away) or be they bad (a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips!)

Our verse in today's chapter isn't saying God is in the business of blessing idiots with health, wealth and prosperity. It's saying, if you act like a fool, you will be rewarded as a fool. A fool will receive the rod, because he can't be corrected by reason. A fool has no honor, and a fool can't be trusted. (vs. 1-11)

This chapter also covers the slothful, the sluggard, the talebearer, the contentious, the hater, and the lier. Wow, that's a lot to pack into one chapter! Imagine all the rewards they'll have!

Where is your reward?

Fight the good fight!
